Lightning Conductor Installation

  • Introduction

Lightning conductor is a device that protects constructions against stroke of lightning. High constructions in modern cities were under threat of lightning strike or getting damaged by lightning for a long time as electricity is easily attracted by peaks. However, following the kite experiments of Benjamin Franklin, lightning conductor was invented and it was ensured that the electricity current resulting from lightning is directly transmitted to the earth. In order to achieve this, a sharp iron rod is placed on the roof of buildings and this is extended down to the earth with a wire. The lightning that strikes is transmitted to the wire from these two rods and then to the earth.
